A graduate of the Shepherd School of Ministry at the Kansas City Baptist Temple, Douglas was ordained as a Baptist pastor in 1991. He worked full-time supervising a software development team while ministering to churches, leading international mission trips, and engaging in various other ministries. From 1998 to 2000, he served as a missionary pastor in Brașov, Romania. Upon returning to Kansas, Douglas worked in software development and support and later became the Director of Technical Support for a technology company. During this time, he also continued ministering and teaching at his church, eventually becoming a full-time pastor at Grace Church of Overland Park, Kansas.
In 2011, Douglas returned to Romania, where he founded Asociatia Izvorul Vietii to serve the community. He is currently planting a church in Râșnov.

Douglas enjoys teaching in an interactive style. He is pursuing online studies at Liberty University and enjoys playing baseball with the Brașov Grizzlies. Douglas is married to Camelia, and they have three daughters: Olivia (27), Mira (24), and Attalia (12).
