TIS Scholarships

Transylvania International School supports excellence and encourages students from all walks of life to reach their potential.

So TIS scholarships are for all students at this school who are experiencing financial difficulties in achieving our goal, but also for those who wish to develop academically.

  • Students in full-time courses at Transylvania International School are eligible for scholarships awarded from the allocated donation amounts. Scholarships can be: excellence scholarships, or social scholarships..
  • The number of scholarships offered by TIS is determined annually by the TIS Board of Directors, within the limits of the scholarship funds.
  • Scholarships are awarded each school yearfor the duration of the school year. A pupil may not receive two scholarships at the same time.
  • The specific criteria for awarding scholarships shall be determined annually by the TIS School Board, within the limits of the funds allocated and in relation to the completeness of the pupils' school activities.

During the scholarship period, students may lose their scholarship if they are observed to be behaving in a way that is not in line with the values of our school.

Excellence scholarships

The Excellence Scholarship is open to all TIS students who simultaneously meet the following conditions:
  • they are enrolled in the study programme;
  • have very good academic results;
  • have a behaviour appropriate to the values of the TIS school.

Social grants

Social scholarships are awarded to students whose family has not achieved in the 3 months prior to the start of the semester / academic year an average net monthly income per family member greater than the minimum net basic salary.
